Today is a sad day. Aviation lovers feel the loss of the great Chuck Yeager after a life well lived over his 97 years. He was born in West Virginia, so I wanted to fly in his home state today, this is why I selected this bridge. I know that under the bridges the engine sometimes stops, and I was ready for an emergency landing, as I finally did in the highway.
I met Chuck Yeager in person 10 years ago, when he came to my country to visit Sort, athe place where he was confined after escaping the occupied France in 1944 after being shot down. Then I was starting my PPL-A lessons, and I had so many thinks to ask to an extremely experienced pilot like him. That day he was surrounded by many people and I could only give him the hand and cross his electrifying eagle look. Could not say nothing to him. The group of pilots and flightsrimmers that went to see him were named AVA (Aviadores Virtuales Asociados). We gave him a picture of his X-1 and a moments later we received the picture signed with only two dedication words, that were responding all my questions. He wrote “Fly safe!”

We’ll miss you a lot, Chuck. You were the inspiration for most of us. You were the bigger aviator among all! Fly high!
