Late Goaround when opposite runway landing at the same time!

Recorded on 29/05/2015 during a meeting that generated a busy traffic morning; the first 3 traffics apparently coordinated well on the radio, but all of a suden appears a 4th traffic and…

  5. Looks like calm wind. This is a dangerous time at an uncontrolled airport. There really is no direction to land. I’m always very nervous on these days and make extra radio calls announcing my position. Also you never know when someone is on the wrong frequency. The two planes from the right looked too close together. This may have caused plane two to be fixated on the plane in front. Always take a glance or two to the opposite end of the runway when on short final. You never know…

  6. This really happened to me at Timmerman field in Wisconsin. I had taken off and had turned left and was climbing to pattern altitude and fortunately I had lowered my nose early when dead ahead a Citabria appeared then I pushed the nose down hard reduced my throttle and veered to the right. I must have had 10 feet clearance and that was close!!

  7. had a diamond(surprise surprise) almost do this to me once, i was in the pattern and just departed 29 and the other asshole decides to take 11 and enter straight in and cut off my pattern while i’m downwind, class G can get pretty crazy sometimes

  8. Getting traffic and airport advisories on the CTAF when you’re 5 miles out or more is always a great idea, can save your life in some instances. Use your friggin radio and communicate.

  9. The helicopter cut the first guy off, then the other guy not talking or listening to the radio, didn’t see any windsock to tell the wind but looks like the high wing planes had it right

  10. Sigues publicando un video sin autorizacion de las partes implicadas, nunca has tenido permiso de las aeronaves implicadas, generando malas interpretaciones y una mala reputacion del certamen aeronautico

  11. I fly year-round except on the first pretty day in the spring when the fair weather flyers come out of hibernation and prove they’ve forgotten everything they ever knew about uncontrolled fields.

  12. That looks like a chaotic airport. Planes land upwind and downwind on the same runway at the same time while some random helicopter comes floating across. Sheesh.

  13. Scenario: I’m landing northbound on a straight-in at the direction of the tower. I was cleared to land, #1. I heard the tower tell a Mooney 201 to extend his downwind, and that she would call his base turn. The next thing I know, I’m telling the tower that I have a windshield full of Mooney and that I was deviating to the left of the centerline and going around. He had turned to base and then to final with no instructions and no landing clearance, and was descending into me on his turn to short final. He had no clue I was there or how close we were. I was in a C-172, so my visibility up and to the right wasn’t great. That was way too close. The controller kind of lost it on the Mooney. Man, was she ticked off. He got to hear those ominous words when he called Ground… «Taxi to the base of the tower…» When I eventually got back around to landing and was rolling out, she was all «Are you okay, sir? Sorry about that. Thanks for the help.» Sometimes I think those folks don’t get paid enough.

I’ve seen that field get so jammed up with guys doing countless T&Gs on sunny days that the tower eventually says something akin to «Alright, all of you. No one is cleared ‘touch & go’. You’re all landing. If you want to take off again, contact ground and get back in line.»
